&lt;div&gt;Aliette de Bodard is a half-Vietnamese, half-French writer of fantasy and science fiction. She lives in Paris, France. Her stories have been published or are forthcoming in Interzone, Black Static, and The Year&#039;s Best Science Fiction. She was a Writers of the Future winner in 2006, and a Campbell Award nominee in 2009. Her first novel, the Aztec fantasy &#039;&#039;Servant of the Underworld&#039;&#039;, is scheduled for publication in 2010. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Much of her work makes use of mythology and history--especially of non-Western cultures. &lt;br /&gt;

Her short story &amp;quot;Night Bird Soaring&amp;quot;, published in issue 3 of GUD, is a finalist for the 2008 Sidewise Awards, in addition to being recommended for a Nebula and a BSFA Award. &lt;br /&gt;
