'''Elia Barceló''' ([[Alicante]], [[1957]]) is a Spanish SF writer, considered the most important in her country. Besides SF, she has also published fantasy, detective stories, young adults books and essays.

She studied German and Hispanic Filology, and finished her Ph.D. in Hispanic Filology in Innsbruck, Austria, in 1995, where she currently lives and teaches Hispanic literature. 

She is one of the three most important SF women authors in Spanish language, together with Argentinian [[Angélica Gorodischer]] and Cuban [[Daína Chaviano]], with whom she comprises the so-called "feminine triad in American-Spanish SF".
