	Mayor Harla Branno is a character in Isaac Asimov’s [[foundation series]]. She appears in <u>Foundation’s Edge</u>. Nicknamed Branno the Bronze, Mayor Branno is only the fifth female mayor of the First Foundation. At the start of <u>Foundation’s Edge</u>, Mayor Branno had held the position for five years but had been the power behind the mayorship for two different mayors in the twelve years prior to that. In <u>Foundation’s Edge</u>, Mayor Branno exiles Golan Trevize into space as a way to draw out the Second Foundation. Mayor Branno intends to, through military imperialism, establish the Second Galactic Empire in her time, to ensure that she will be remembered in the generations to come. In the final standoff, Mayor Branno speaks on behalf and in favor of the First Foundation. When Trevize decides against the First Foundation and in favor of Gaia, Mayor Branno’s memories and emotions are manipulated, leading her to believe that her goal was actually to obtain a new commercial treaty with the Sayshell Union.
