<p><b>New page</b></p><div>[[Provost's Dog]] is a series of books by [[Tamora Pierce]]. It is set in her world of [[Tortall]], some 150 years prior to the events of the [[Song of the Lioness]] series. It follows the adventures of [[Rebekah Cooper]] (an ancestress of George Cooper from Lioness books) in her training and work as a member of the Provost's Guard, Tortall's police force.<br />

This is the first series Pierce wrote in the first person, and is written as Beka's diary. It also has a lot in common with her non-Tortallan series [[The Circle Opens]], in that it is not so much a straight fantasy adventure series, but is more focused on crime and detective work, in a fantasy setting.<br />
