When Xena sets up a plan to save a Gaul leader (Vercinix) from Caesar, Gabrielle is faced with a choice of conscience.
Commentary (and spoilers)
It was great to see Xena's plan just keep unfolding. Several times the viewer is led into thinking something has gone wrong, only to see that it was all part of the plan.
GXR notes: When Caesar and Crassus set out to "divide and conquer", Gabrielle is not so easily led into mistrusting Xena. Although she expresses some mistrust, as Gabrielle is going up against Caesar again, Xena tells her to trust her, and ultimately Gabrielle does.
- G: And that’s the plan, right? The whole plan?
- X: What are you getting at?
- G: Look, I know you want Vercinix out. But I wanna make sure there’s not another part of this plan that you’re not telling me. You know? Like —
