The 2006 Hugo vacuum was the utter dearth (95% absence) of female writers among the four major fiction category short-lists for the Hugo Awards for works published in 2006. The incident erupted as a series of discussions on blogs etc. in March-April 2007.

Of novel, novella, novelette, and short story, only Naomi Novik's His Majesty's Dragon aka Temeraire was nominated. There were few women in any of the other categories. (See Making Light, 3/28 for the list.)
