Jean Grey was one of the original X-Men team members, and a mutant with powerful psychic powers (telekinesis and telepathy). Originally known as "Marvel Girl", she is more commonly known as "Phoenix". Her "Phoenix" identity was explained as a cosmic "Phoenix Force" in the "Dark Phoenix Saga", and as the submerged portion of a split personality in X-Men: The Last Stand, the third X-Men movie.
