Kate Orman (born 1968) is an Australian science fiction writer. She has been active as a professionally published author and as a fan writer, and is an ardent feminist.

She was the first woman to publish an original Doctor Who novel in the licensed Virgin New Adventures series: The Left-Handed Hummingbird, in 1993, and wrote several other Doctor Who novels thereafter.

She is currently working on original writing projects.
