Clare Winger Harris (1891-1968) was the author of "The Fate of Posedonia" (June 1927 ''Amazing Stories''; it also appears in Justine Larbalestier's anthology ''Daughters of Earth: Feminist Science Fiction in the 20th Century'' with a critical essay.)  Her writing flourished during the 1920's-30's and her work is collected in the anthology ''Away from the Here and Now'' (1974).  She also wrote ''Persephone of Eleusis: A Romance of Ancient Greece''.
