The Dialectic of Sex: The Case for Female Revolution is a 1970 work of radical feminist theory by Shulamith Firestone (1945-2012). The work is known for making the case that women, to be liberated, must be freed from biological reproduction -- e.g., by artificial reproduction.

Marge Piercy was greatly influenced by this book in her writing of Woman on the Edge of Time, and Naomi Wolf has said of The Dialectic of Sex that "No one can understand how feminism has evolved without reading this radical, inflammatory, second-wave landmark."

This article is a SEED, meaning it is tiny and needs lots of work. Help it grow.
