Alison Bechdel is a cartoonist and out dyke best known for her work on Dykes To Watch Out For (DTWOF).
In DTWOF, a character stated what has been since named the "Dykes To Watch Out For test" or the "Mo Movie Measure" or the "Bechdel test". Originally devised by Bechdel's friend Liz Wallace and published as applied by a character in DTWOF to movies, the test requires that a work have at least two women in the work who talk to each other about something besides a man.
