A group of science fiction fans founded in 1938 in New York, generally to foster left-wing ideals. Its members included Judith Merril, Doris Baumgardt (aka Leslie Perri), Rosalind Cohen, Elise Balter, Jessica Gould, C.M. Kornbluth, Frederik Pohl, Damon Knight, Virginia Kidd, and Isaac Asimov. Described in detail in Damon Knight's book The Futurians.
