North American Premiere (2003)

Helen Todd as Aunt Lydia; Photograph by Michael Daniel, available at http://proofsheet.com/mnopera/tale/index.htm ; Set design by --?

Ruders produced the North American premiere with the Minnesota Opera in 2003. Elizabeth Bishop as Offred; Gabor Andrasy as the Commander; Joyce Castle as Serena Joy.

Looks like an amazing set design (see photo by Michael Daniel) but can't find out who did the set design. Also look at Daniel's "proof sheet" for photos 8666, the backdrop in 8830, and 0185.

The costuming seems a little washed out, but maybe just a feature of the lighting.
