"Milfay" is the pilot episode for the HBO TV series Carnivàle.

Notes and dialog

Character Sofie is almost raped by some men in town but is saved by another character. Describing the incident to her colleague Jonesy, he gives her a critical look.

S: Come on, Jonesy. It was nothing.
J: How many times you been told?
S:I know. I can't buy a dress, I can't buy a magazine, I certainly can't sit in a beauty shop and read it. Is there anything I can do?
J: Sof, there's plenty. But one thing you cannot do is prance into these towns without askin' for trouble.
S:So it was my fault?
J: Yeah, it was.
S:I was asking for it?
J: Yeah!
She slaps him.
S:The only thing I was asking for was a tank of gas and a Nehi soda, and maybe 10 minutes to myself! The rest of it was them! (pause) Get out.
