Salmoneus needs help; he's running a beauty pageant, but the local warlords are aggressively entering their girlfriends in the pageant as a substitute for their warlike tendencies. And now someone has been attacking the contestants.
This episode is great fun, with a bit of gender-bending; Xena's defense of women; Xena's helping to preserve the peace; and Xena helping women empower themselves. Plus Gabrielle ranting about beauty pageants, and giving lessons to the guys about how to treat their girlfriends.
