After Caesar's general Brutus kills Ephiny, Gabrielle is called to be queen of the Amazon tribe. Xena makes plans to save the Amazons from Caesar's and Pompey's forces. Xena and Gabrielle come to an accord with Brutus, whom they feel is an honorable man, and he promises to deliver a peace treaty to Caesar, whom he trusts.
