List of Xena episodes

Ares tricks some local villagers into thinking that Xena, their rescuer, actually instigated the attack. Ares then tempts the imprisoned Xena with visions of becoming his warrior queen. Gabrielle believes in justice and the law, and thinks that by being a successful advocate at the trial, she can save Xena. She does indeed investigate and prove Xena's innocence, but Ares confounds her attempts to play by the rules.

The local villagers who don't like to play by the rules come in to beat up their prisoner, and Xena reacts strongly, knocking Gabrielle across the room in her berserker rage. When Xena realizes what she's done, she feels great remorse.

Gabrielle, having failed to prove Xena's innocence to the satisfaction of the villagers, tries to help her escape, but Xena refuses. Instead, she tricks Ares into reviving the dead villagers, who testify on her behalf. Xena and Gabrielle are free to go about their wanderings.
