Fox Mulder is one of the two principal characters in The X-Files. The premise of the show implicitly contrasted Mulder with Scully in a somewhat gender-transgressive fashion: Mulder was the intuitive team member, while Scully was the logical, rational, scientific-minded partner.
Throughout the nine-season series, however, gender norms frequently asserted themselves, as Mulder became more of an "action hero", and, even while dismissed and ever more considered an "outsider", was always "right".
