- treatment of women
- Bela Talbot starts off the episode; Gordon Palmer threatens to kill her if she doesn't help him find Sam & Dean.
- Sam & Dean start by capturing a female vampire, Lucy (played by Mercedes McNab, who played a similar role of a ditzy blonde vampire, Harmony Kendall, in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series), and killing her; she argues that she just took a drug and doesn't realize she's a vampire; Dean cuts off her head off-screen.
