Creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Serenity. Formerly a writer for Roseanne (TV series). Currently a writer for The X-Men.
Whedon, Women, Feminism
Whedon is well known for his representations of strong girls and young women, and for explicitly stating that he is a feminist and wants to do feminist work. (Too many links! Where to begin?)
He has some detractors, who see potential issues with his treatment of strong older women.

Whedon, Race & Ethnicity
Whedon's' work has not been as successfully anti-racist as it has been feminist.
