The Chosen One ... is female. Including works where a woman fulfills a prophecy, religious or heroic, or otherwise, I guess.

  • "Anamnesis" (Millennium episode 2x19) - a teenage girl who is having visions of the Magdalene, or the Virgin Mary
  • Bechard, Gorman. The Second Greatest Story Ever Told (1991). God's latest kid is a girl.
  • Elgin, Suzette Haden. Star Anchored, Star Angered - Drussa Silver is a messiah figure.
  • Hand, Elizabeth. Waking the Moon
  • Haydon, Elizabeth. Rhapsody
  • Haydon, Elizabeth. Prophecy
  • Hodgell, P. C. Godstalk series: Godstalk, Dark of the Moon, Seeker's Mask - protagonist is one of a trinity; female is The Destroyer of the trinity
  • Le Guin, Ursula. The Tombs of Atuan. Tenar, the protagonist, is The Eaten One, discovered via a Dalai Lama like search.
  • Morrow, James. Only Begotten Daughter. Another sequel to The New Testament, with a daughter. Deeply satirical.
  • Norton, Andre, and Sasha Miller. To the King a Daughter (2000)
  • Norton, Andre, and Mercedes Lackey. Elvenbane
  • Norton, Andre, and Mercedes Lackey. Elvenblood
  • Snyder, Midori. New Moon (1989)
  • Snyder, Midori. Sadar's Keep (1991)
  • Snyder, Midori. Beldan's Fire (1993) (a quartet of novels about 4 women who fulfill a religio-political prophecy & free their people)

  • Yolen, Jane. Sister Light Sister Dark
  • Sydney Bristow, "Alias" (term "chosen one" used in episode 3x11 "Full Disclosure"
