"When It Changed" is a short story by Joanna Russ. It was first published in Again, Dangerous Visions, a 1972 anthology edited by Harlan Ellison.

The story won a Nebula Award for 1972 and was one of the winners of the Retrospective Tiptree Award in 1996.
