She goes home to figure things out, only to discover that a warlord is attacking the local villages. Her village has hired Meleager the Mighty, a drunk former warrior. Gabrielle helps organize the villagers, and encourage Meleager to stop drinking. After they defeat the warlord, she realizes that she can, indeed, keep on the warrior road life with Xena, and returns to Xena, who seems very happy to see her.
