Comiket is the world's largest convention for selling handmade comic books, or dōjinshi. It was begun by "an all women doujin circle (fanfic group) ... with the intention of studying Year 24 Group (an all woman mangaka team), and more specifically, the works of Hagio Moto (a legenary member of Year 24 Group)."[1]
