Creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Serenity. Formerly a writer for Roseanne (TV series). Currently a writer for The X-Men. Deal to do a film version of Wonder Woman went down the tubes in February, 2007.

Whedon, Women, Feminism

Whedon is well known for his representations of strong girls and young women, and for explicitly stating that he is a feminist and wants to do feminist work. (Too many links! Where to begin?)

He has some detractors, who see potential issues with his treatment of strong older women.

Whedon, Race & Ethnicity

Whedon's' work has not been as successfully anti-racist as it has been feminist.
