Blood Ties is an upcoming TV series made in Canada and based on the works of Tanya Huff, set to premiere on March 11th on the Lifetime channel in the United States, and in the Fall of 2007 on the Space channel in Canada.
It is about Vicki Nelson, an ex-cop turned private investigator because of a degenerative eye disease, who teams up with a vampire to fight supernatural crimes.

Changes Between the Novels and the TV Series
Vicki will have an assistant, named Coreen Fennel.
Henry Fitzroy no longer a romance writer, but a comic book artist.
The polyamorous / love triangle situation between Henry, Vicki and Mike Celluci should be preserved, but both Henry and Vicki are going to be bisexual in the TV series, instead of only Henry, as in the books. (Source: AfterEllen.com)
The character of Tony Foster has been written out, because Huff hopes to be able to sell the Smoke books (which star Tony, in a spin-off from the Blood books) independently. (Source: Tanya Huff)
Trivia
Tanya Huff has filmed a cameo appearance, as handcuffed background hooker #1, in the episode "Stone Cold", which she wrote herself.
