David and Jonathan are a pair of friends from Biblical mythology, commonly cited as a romantic or sexual male-male pairing in the Bible.

Depictions in SF

Xena: Warrior Princess episode 2x03 "The Giant Killer" - David and Jonathan are clearly friends, and David is the young pretty boy ... they could be a believable couple, but the screenwriters took pains to give David a bit of heterosexual flirtation, with Gabrielle, and a female fiancée.
