Xena & Gabrielle continue their journey into India. While watching a magic show something goes wrong, and a girl named Maya is possessed. When Gabrielle goes to help her, the demon suddenly flies away, and Gabrielle is proclaimed a "devi" — a healing deity.
Notes & spoilers
Xena saves the magician from the crowd that thinks he's evil, but he's convinced that Xena is a devi too, and tries to hypnotize her to find out the secret. Meanwhile, Gabrielle is denying to the crowd that she is a Devi, but when a member of the crowd touches her, his blindness is cured. The priest looking on is also suspicious.
