This is a list of works by women writers that could have or should have been included in the 2006 Hugo Awards -- but weren't. See the 2006 Hugo vacuum for discussion of the issue.

Many of the works listed on this page will be reprinted in various Year's Best anthologies in 2007; such works are marked with "(YB)." A number, such as "(YBx2)," indicates a story that's appearing in multiple such anthologies.

Novels

Naomi Novik, His Majesty's Dragon (aka Temeraire) was the only novel by a woman nominated (historical fantasy / alternate history). Below are some of the other women who wrote well-regarded works:
