Florynce Kennedy was a civil rights activist and attorney. She cofounded the Feminist Party, which ran Shirley Chisholm for president; the National Organization for Women (NOW), and the Women's Political Caucus. People Magazine in 1974 wrote that she was "[t]he biggest, loudest and, indisputably, the rudest mouth on the battleground."

Kennedy also was credited as "Flo Kennedy" in the 1983 film Born in Flames, playing Zella.
