LiveJournal

LiveJournal or LJ as it is commonly abbreviated, is an online blogging platform and social networking website. It was created by Brad Fitz in 1999.

Security Levels

There are three main security levels for entries posted to LiveJournal: public, friends-only, and private.

Making a LJ entry friends-only is often called "flocking" it. (The word is a portmanteau of the expression "friends-lock".) Friends-only entries can be filtered by the poster to include only certain subsets of their friends list.
