C.J. Cherryh
C.J. Cherryh is the pseudonym of Carolyn Janice Cherry (1942 - ). She amended her name because her first editor (Donald A. Wollheim) told her that "Cherry" sounded too much like a romance writer. She used her initials rather than her full name to create a neuter name.
