Élisabeth Vonarburg was born in France in 1947.

She's written several novels:

Le Silence de la Cité (1981), translated as The Silent City.
Chroniques du Pays des Mères (1992), translated as In the Mothers' Land and The Maerlande Chronicles.
Les Voyageurs malgré eux (1992), translated as Reluctant Voyagers.
Tyranaël Books 1-5 (1996-1997), two first books translated as Dreams of the Sea and A Game of Perfection ; others forthcoming.
