Hugo vacuum of 2006

The 2006 Hugo vacuum was the utter dearth (95% absence) of female writers among the four major fiction category short-lists. Of novel, novella, novelette, and short story, only Naomi Novik's His Majesty's Dragon aka Temeraire was nominated. There were few women in any of the other categories.
