Hilary Tamar

Professor Hilary Tamar is the narrator and sleuth of Sarah Caudwell's four mystery novels, as well as of at least one of her short stories.

Professor Tamar's gender is never revealed in any of these works, through the use of first-person narration and non-gender-specific forms of address.
