George Takei

George Takei is best-known as the actor in the original Star Trek who played Lt. Sulu. He has played in numerous roles since, however, including most recently "Heroes", as Hiro Nakamura's father.

Takei has long been active in fandom, and won increased recognition and respect after coming out around 2005 as gay, with a long-term partner.
