Isaac Asimov
Isaac Asimov was an influential SF writer and editor, and also was well-known as a humanist and atheist. He is most famous for the Foundation series, although also famous for Galactic Empire series and Robot series; his short story "Nightfall" was a major award-winner.
He was married twice. His second wife, Janet Asimov, is also a SF writer.
As a humanist and atheist, Asimov also identified as a supporter of human rights, including as a feminist, and supported gay rights. His views were tied to environmentalism and concern about overpopulation.
