C.J. Cherryh
C.J. Cherryh is the pseudonym of Carolyn Janice Cherry (born 1942). She amended her name because her first editor (Donald A. Wollheim) told her that "Cherry" sounded too much like a romance writer. She used her initials rather than her full name to create a neuter name.
