Isn't it amazing how in only three seasons, Millennium has as many (or as few...) episodes written by women as the entire run of The X-Files (nine seasons)? --Ide Cyan 10:13, 19 April 2007 (PDT)

i don't remember that chris carter wrote that many episodes himself, either, so that's not it. ... i will say that my favorite thing about chris carter is that he steered away from hollywood beauty in his casting, male and female; especially guest casting. i always took it more as a form of class-consciousness than anything else, but since that plays out so much more seriously against female actors, it's important. gillian was very surprising to people when she first aired because she was so not hollywood-typically attractive. too bad he wasn't better with the writers & directors on x-files though. --LQ 11:11, 19 April 2007 (PDT)

Chris Carter was the showrunner for S1 of Millennium, where there are some good female characters (Catherine Black, Cheryl Andrews), but none of the episodes are written or directed by women. In season 2, Glen Morgan & James Wong took over the series, which is when Maher and Reindl wrote their first three scripts (and Lara Means appeared), and, iirc, it was Chip Johanssen who was in charge of S3 (with Carter). --Ide Cyan 11:19, 19 April 2007 (PDT)
