Shadows on the Hearth is a 1950 novel by Judith Merril.

It displayed the preoccupation (for obvious reasons) with nuclear war that many sf writers in the 1950s had. Nuclear holocaust from a housewife's perspective. It was televised as "Atomic Attack."
