Witchblade the TV series was based on Witchblade the comic book series. The series was directed by Ralph Hemecker, written by Marc Silvestri and J. D. Zeik, and starred Yancy Butler as Sara Pezzini. The series originally aired on TNT starting in 2001, and the final and 24th episode aired Aug. 26, 2002. A movie version is allegedly in the works.
