Larry Niven is a SF writer best known for his "Ringworld series" (the "Known Space universe").

He has been subject to criticism for sexism in his books, including sexist portrayal of female characters in his books, and other issues relating to gender.

Gender issues

  • Pierson's Puppeteers
  • "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex" - a humorous story meditating on the effects of Lois Lane having sex with Superman, using physics
  • Characterization of female characters, e.g., Teela Brown
