Dawn Summers is a character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She first appeared in Season 5 of the TV series, introduced mysteriously as Buffy's younger sister. Her origins are revealed a few episodes later, and she is the lynchpin to the season finale. Her character continues through Seasons 6 and 7, and into the comic season 8.

Dawn begins life as a young adolescent, perhaps 14 years old. In the first season she is portrayed as a bratty younger sister; she matures at a (relatively) natural rate over the next several years. Although she has supernatural origins, she apparently has no supernatural powers, but is intelligent and diligent.
