Joanna Eberhart is the protagonist of The Stepford Wives by Ira Levin. A photographer, she moves to Stepford with her husband, and over time begins to become increasingly uncomfortable with the behavior of Stepford's wives. She discovers that the women were once, like herself, high achievers, and now are zombie housewives.
