Professional women

• Dr. Kay Zeldin 1:1 A professor in Seattle who, 20 years ago, worked as a spy for Sedgewick. Chosen to be one of the three representatives from the U.S. to the Marq'ssan. As a professional, Zeldin showers in blue reclaimed water and eats mostly tubefood. Zeldin starts book 1 with an attitude that beingin a room full of women woudl be unbearable from the "babbling"; she speaks derisively of feminists and is fearful of the aliens and terrorists. As Zeldin suffers the abuse of Sedgewick, watches the executive men wield repressive power, torture and rape women, she shifts her allegiances.
