Misa Kuroi is the lead character of the Eko Eko Azaraku (Wizard of Darkness) series created by Shinichi Koga as a manga in the 1970s and turned into live-action film by Shimiko Sato in the 1990s.
She was originally portrayed on film by Kimika Yoshino.
Film director Shimako Sato made her call herself a wizard instead of a witch in reaction to the sexism against female practicioners of magic in Earthsea.
