May Sinclair (pseudonym for Mary Amelia St. Clair) was a 19th / 20th century suffragist, writer, and critic; she invented the term "stream of consciousness". In addition to her other writings, she wrote ghost stories and included supernatural elements in some of her fiction, especially her short stories.
