Themes & Tropes
  • If a topic exists in the real (non-SFnal) world, then please include the phrase "in SF" at the end of the article title.
  • If a topic only exists in the SFnal (including mythological, religious, and other storytelling modes) please do not include the phrase "in SF" at the end of the article title.

For example:

  • Matriarchy in SF - Matriarchies have and do exist in the real world, and so to make it clear we are talking about matriarchies in SF, please include "in SF" in the article title.
  • Homonormativity in SF. The same as above.
  • Generation ship -- These are basically a SFnal concept and do not (presently) exist in the real world. So, no need to have "in SF" in the title.
