This is a compilation of works and writers "recommended by" Le Guin. It includes commentaries and recommendations from a) published reviews, b) Le Guin's website and other writings, and c) interviews. It does not include "blurbs", which are solicited commentaries (see Blurbs by Ursula K. Le Guin). Works and writers cited should be "recommended", "favorite", "an influence"; sources should be cited.

  • Jose Saramago. ("And if you like [Le Guin]: Nobel prizewinning Portuguese author Jose Saramago (Blindness, Harvill Press, £7.99) is a favourite of Le Guin's."[1]
