Hi! I came to the FSFwiki in April 2007 to help with the Women_eligible_for_2008_SF_Awards project, which induced me to learn enough wiki stuff to get by. The FSFwiki is the only place I wiki so far, but I have been blogging for years at http://zdashamber.livejournal.com.

I live in Oakland, California, and I work at a genetics/neurology/addiction lab.

My definition of feminism is that nothing open to one gender should be to any degree closed to another, whether by political, social, or biological means. In the present state of the world that mostly involves agitating to get women equal representation in all the cool stuff men get access to, but it also involves getting the world to accept men's rights to stay home with kids or wear pretty things or whathaveyou without being mocked.

Similarly, I try to fight against racism, classism, age discrimination (teenagers shouldn't be blown off or mocked just for their age), and all other forms of bigotry.
